Diagnostics
MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound and the laboratory. For every test: the price, how to prepare, when the result is ready and which branch does it.
You don’t need a referral: you can book any scan or test yourself. You can also book a doctor for the same day to go through the result.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
A 1.5 Tesla wide-bore MRI scanner has been running at the Nasimi branch since 2019. A scan takes 20 to 40 minutes; the tunnel is short and well lit for people who dislike closed spaces, and you get headphones with music.

How to prepare
- You will need to take off anything metal (watch, belt, earrings); a locker is provided.
- If you have a pacemaker, a metal implant or an insulin pump, tell us when booking: in some cases an MRI is not possible.
- Do not eat for 5 hours before an abdominal MRI.
- An MRI with contrast needs a creatinine test from the last 30 days; we can do one here in an hour.

Computed tomography (CT)
A 64-slice CT scanner has been in use at Nasimi since 2022. The scan itself takes 5 to 10 minutes and is the quickest way to look at the lungs, a head injury or kidney stones.

How to prepare
- No preparation is needed for a head or chest CT.
- Do not eat for 4 hours before an abdominal CT.
- If there is any chance you are pregnant, tell us.
- A CT with contrast needs a creatinine test no older than 30 days.

How to prepare
- Do not eat or have fizzy drinks for 6–8 hours before an abdominal ultrasound.
- For a pelvic or bladder scan, drink a litre of water an hour before and don’t go to the toilet.
- Thyroid, breast and pregnancy scans need no preparation.

Digital X-ray is available at Nasimi and Khatai, walk in during opening hours. Mammography is at Nasimi only.

How to prepare
- No preparation and no appointment needed.
- If there is any chance you are pregnant, tell the radiographer.
- Mammography is best done on days 6–12 of your cycle.
Laboratory
Blood is taken at all three branches and the samples go to the Nasimi laboratory three times a day. You get the results by a link in a text message or by e-mail, with a paper copy at reception.

How to prepare
- Blood tests are done in the morning on an empty stomach: 8–12 hours after your last meal; water is fine.
- Avoid alcohol and heavy meals the day before.
- Take your thyroid medication after a TSH test, not before.
- There is a separate room for children; babies under one have a finger-prick test.

How to prepare
- An ECG takes 10 minutes and needs no preparation.
- While wearing a Holter monitor, don’t shower; go about your normal day and keep the diary we give you.
