How to pick a size when you buy online

Size is the reason for more than half of the orders that come back. Three steps prevent most of them.

1. Measure the piece of your own that fits best

A body is hard to measure and a garment is easy. Lay the blazer or the trousers that fit you best on a flat surface and take two measurements: the width from armpit to armpit, and the length. Every product page gives the length in size M (L for menswear); neighbouring sizes differ by about 2 cm.

2. Look at the fit

The same size M feels wide in an oversized coat and close in a blazer shaped at the waist. The page names one of four fits. Between two sizes, take the larger in a slim piece and the smaller in a relaxed or oversized one.

The model’s height and size are there too: if a model of 177 cm wears an S and you are 165 cm, the coat will look 5–6 cm longer on you.

3. Do not worry about length

Width is hard to alter and length is easy. So choose the size by the shoulder and the waist. If a sleeve or a leg is long, the workshop boutique shortens it free within 30 days of your purchase.

If you are still unsure, order both sizes: the one that does not fit goes back to a boutique free within 14 days.
