Twenty-five rooms in a limestone house built in 1908. You choose which window you will stay behind.
Kichik Gala Street is six metres wide. On one side stands the fortress wall of the 12th century; on the other, a four-storey house of Absheron limestone. Its three stone balconies face the street, and its glazed galleries face the fig tree in the courtyard.
The restoration took three years. The staircase, the iron railings and the 3.9-metre ceilings of the second floor stayed where they were; the lift, the quiet air conditioning and the hammam were added.

We had morning tea on the balcony of room 203 with the fortress wall in front of us. We had picked the room on the façade on the site, and it was exactly that window.

We took the hammam for an hour, just the two of us. After the scrub, tea and jam were waiting upstairs in the restaurant.
