Admissions
At what age do children start the preparatory class and grade 1?
We follow the state rule: the preparatory class is for children who are five by 15 September, grade 1 for those who are six. The dates for 2027/28 are on the admissions page.
Can a child join in the middle of the year?
Yes, into any class with a free place. The assessment is within five working days of the application, and fees are charged for the remaining months only.
How should my child prepare for the assessment?
No special preparation is needed: we want to see what your child knows now. If you like, the admissions office will e-mail you sample tasks for the grade.
Can a child move from the Russian section to the Azerbaijani one?
Up to grade 4 children can move either way if there is a place. After that a move is possible with a language assessment and a half-year of extra lessons.
Fees
What does the fee include?
All lessons, textbooks, the morning snack and lunch, two clubs a week, trips within Baku, the nurse and the psychologist. The bus and the extended day are paid separately.
How does the sibling discount work?
10% comes off the second child's fee and 15% off the third and any further children. The discount goes on the younger child and, together with the annual payment discount, never exceeds 20%.
Can we pay monthly?
Yes: ten equal payments from September to June, by the 5th of each month, by bank transfer or card.
Do we get money back if our child leaves?
Yes. Money paid for the months after the month of your written notice is returned within ten working days. The registration fee is not refunded.
Everyday life
Is there a uniform?
Yes: a navy blazer or waistcoat, a white shirt, grey trousers or a skirt, plus a separate PE kit. The set is sold at the school shop for about ₼240.
What is the rule on phones?
In grades 1–9 phones are handed to the form tutor in the morning and given back at 15:00. If you need to reach your child urgently, call the office.
How much homework is there?
None in grade 1, up to 40 minutes a day in grades 2–4 and up to an hour and a half in grades 5–9. Children on the extended day do it at school.
Does the bus come to our door?
No, buses run between set stops. If four or more children live in one area, we add a stop to the route in August.
