In Baku, Sumgait and Khirdalan, in the morning. The nurse brings the tubes, sterile needles and a cool bag; the sample reaches the central laboratory within 3 hours.

Preparation guide
Fasting
Glucose, the lipid profile and biochemistry need 8–12 hours without food. Water is fine; tea and coffee are not.
Before 10:00
TSH, cortisol and iron change during the morning: give the sample between 07:30 and 10:00.
Cycle day
FSH, LH and oestradiol are given on day 3–5 of the cycle, progesterone on day 19–21.
Morning urine
Collect the middle part of the first morning urine in a sterile cup and bring it within 2 hours.

Every sample is run in one laboratory

The central laboratory is in Narimanov, on Tabriz Street. Couriers bring samples from the branches and from homes twice a day in cool bags. The analysers are checked with control material before every shift, and the laboratory takes part in external quality assessment.
