The Schengen visa: €35 and the documents
Why the fee for Azerbaijani citizens is €35, which documents you need and when to apply.
The visa facilitation agreement between the European Union and Azerbaijan has been in force since 2014. That is why the Schengen visa fee for Azerbaijani citizens is €35; it did not change when the general fee rose to €90 in June 2024. The visa centre’s service fee is paid separately.
The usual documents
- The application form and a photo.
- A passport issued within the last 10 years and valid at least 3 months after you return.
- Medical insurance of €30,000 for the whole trip.
- Flight and hotel bookings.
- A letter from your employer and a bank statement.
Timing
You can apply no earlier than 6 months and no later than 15 days before the trip. Consulates usually decide within 15 calendar days, so leave at least a month. Under the Italian embassy’s rules the fee is paid in manat at the quarterly consular rate.
