How to read the code on the cap: a bottle’s record in one line

The short code next to the best-before date tells you which plant, which line and which day filled the product. On the site it also opens the lab’s measurements.

Rows of metal bottle caps seen close up

Every bottle, jar and carton carries a short code printed next to the best-before date, for example Q2-260903-07. It is the batch number: product filled on one line in one run and checked by the lab together.

The parts of the code

  • The letter: Q for the Quba plant, G for Göyçay
  • The digit after it: the line (Q1 1 l cartons, Q2 0.2 l cartons, G1 pomegranate juice in glass)
  • Six digits: the filling day as year, month and day (260903 = 3 September 2026)
  • The last two digits: the batch of that day

What the site shows

Type the code on the quality page and you see the districts the fruit came from, the lab’s Brix and acidity readings, the result of the 7-day incubation test, and the release and best-before dates. If the batch is still in the lab, it says so.

When to tell us

  • If the taste or smell is not as usual
  • If a carton has swollen or a cap opens without a pop
  • If you see out-of-date product in a shop

Keep the pack, the code and the receipt: the lab tests the packs kept from the same batch within 2 working days.
