From 1 October you can block remote loans in your name

The Central Bank’s new rule covers consumer loans arranged by phone or online: how to set a block, how to lift it and when the money is paid out.

The changes the Central Bank announced on 30 September 2026 apply from 1 October to banks and to non-bank credit organisations alike. The aim is to stop someone else, such as a fraudster who has your phone or personal details, from borrowing in your name.

How to set the block and lift it

  • You apply in writing to any bank or credit organisation: no consumer loans in your name at a distance and no higher credit limits.
  • The block goes into the credit bureau’s system, and every lender must check it before lending at a distance.
  • To lift it you come to a branch in person or apply with an enhanced electronic signature.
  • If someone applies remotely in your name while the block is on, the lender must tell you at once by SMS or in its app.

When the money is paid out

Money for loans signed at a distance is no longer paid at once. Up to twice the monthly minimum wage a day, that is up to ₼800, is paid 2 hours after signing; larger sums after 24 hours. The minimum wage has been ₼400 since 1 January 2025. In that pause a person who spots fraud can warn the lender.

What changed at Dayaq

When we check the credit bureau for an online application we also see the block. If there is one, we accept the application but the contract is signed only at a branch, not with SİMA. For consumer loans signed with SİMA we pay to your card within the rule’s times, and the application status page shows the exact hour.
