14/14 and 28/28: rotation work under the Labour Code

The Code has no separate chapter on a "rotation method". Rotas are built on the summarised accounting of working time; articles as of October 2026.

Hours are counted over a period

The normal working week is 40 hours (article 89). Article 96 allows summarised accounting of working time: over the accounting period the total may not exceed the norm, the period may not be longer than a year, and one shift may not be longer than 12 hours. Fourteen days of 12-hour shifts followed by fourteen days off are built this way.

For work in harmful conditions the weekly norm may not exceed 36 hours (article 92), so those workers’ rotas are calculated separately.

Rest and nights

  • At least 12 hours of rest between two working days; in shift work, by the shift schedule (article 103).
  • Under summarised accounting, days off follow a schedule agreed with the trade union (article 104).
  • Night time is 22:00 to 06:00 (article 97); people under 18 may not work nights (article 98).

Pay and leave

Night work and multi-shift work are paid at a higher rate; the exact supplement is set in the employment or collective agreement (article 166). Every overtime hour is paid at least double and is not swapped for a day off (article 165). Basic leave is at least 21 calendar days, with at least 6 more for harmful conditions (articles 114 and 115).

With us the travel day is not part of the rota: the bus leaves Baku in the morning and the crew takes over the shift the same day. Camp and meals are at the company’s cost.

The details are as of the article’s date.
