The brief

The onshore terminal needed three new pump skids. The client wanted one contractor to fabricate and test them, move them to the terminal and set them on their foundations next to running equipment.

How the work went

  • The skids were assembled at our Lökbatan yard, welds inspected and the hydrotest witnessed by the client’s representative.
  • A lift plan was written for each lift and agreed through the terminal’s permit system.
  • The skids travelled on our lowbed over two nights; the heaviest, 86 t, was set with the LTM 1250-5.1.

Result

Work at the terminal took 9 days against 12 planned; the terminal did not stop for an hour.

The client’s words
An 86-tonne lift next to running pumps, and we saw the plan down to the last detail beforehand.
