The brief

An EPC contractor building a gas processing unit wanted its spools and manifolds made at a yard rather than on site, where space and time for welding were short.

How the work went

  • We drew up the material take-off and welding procedures from the drawings; the client approved them.
  • Spools were welded in the shop and every weld was ultrasonically tested.
  • Finished manifolds were blasted, coated and hydrotested at the yard.
  • Each manifold was handed over with its own document file.

Result

312 t of piping and steelwork, 11 manifolds, delivered 9 days early.

The client’s words
The manifolds reached site tested and documented; all we had to do was connect them.
